Program

Day 0: 

  • Arrival in Tbilisi airport in the late hours

Day 1: Tbilisi airport – Tbilisi city tour

  • Arrival in Tbilisi in the morning, accommodation in the 4**** hotel, time to rest, breakfast
  • Visit old city, walking along Shota Rustaveli Avenue, Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, ride cable car to the Narikala fortress with a wonderful view of the city, walking to the waterfall located in the city center, in the district of sulfur baths
  • Lunch
  • Visit to sulfur baths for swimming
  • Free time in the old town
  • Dinner in a well-known restaurant combined with a show of traditional Georgian dances
  • Return to the hotel for overnight stay

Day  2: Tbilisi – David Gareja – Bodbe – Sighnaghi – Telavi

  • After breakfast, departure to Kakheti – a land known for its wine production and unique medieval heritage
  • Drive to the steppes in the south of the country and visit the complex of David Gareja rock monasteries from the 6th century
  • Lunch break in Udabno serving Svan specialties 
  • Transfer to Sighnaghi – a town with a 2.5-kilometer defensive wall, known for the oldest wine festival in Georgia, and on the way visiting the Bodbe Monastery – the burial place of St. Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity
  • Drive to Telavi, accommodation in hotel 4**** , 
  • Dinner in local restaurant
  • Overnight

Day 3: Telavi – Gremi – Wine tour – Supra – Telavi

  • After breakfast, visit at the local market
  • Next stop is Gremi fortress, which was the capital of the kingdom of Kakheti until the 16th century. Beautiful view of the Alazani Valley  
  • Visit to the vineyard and museum in Numisi, Kindzmarauli wine factory, Khareba winery – tunnel converted into a wine warehouse 
  • Supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly farmers house on a vineyard, wine degustation and local food tasting, Georgian cuisine workshops (baking bread, making churchkhela or khinkali) with traditional live music
  • Return to Telavi and accommodation in hotel

Day 4: Telavi – Sarajishvili factory – Gudauri

  • After breakfast, departure towards famous Georgian Military Road, connecting Tbilisi to Vladikavkaz
  • On the way, visit to the Sarajishvili  factory and alcohol  tasting
  • Lunch in a restaurant, near Pasanauri town, serving one of the most delicious khinkali in the region – Georgian dumplings with meat
  • Visit  Ananuri fortress located on the Zhinvali reservoir
  • Stop at a beautiful viewpoint just before Jvari Pass (2379 m above sea level),
  • Accommodation in Gudauri in a 4**** hotel, free time, dinner at the hotel and overnight

Day 5: Gudauri – Truso Valley – Stepantsminda – Gergeti Holy Trinity – Gudauri 

  • After breakfast, all day off-road to the Truso Valley, known for its mineral springs, lakes, medieval defensive towers, the Abano monastery and the Zakagori fortress 
  • A walk in the valley, tasting the mineral waters and an outdoor picnic with local shepherds and baking skewers
  • Drive towards Stepantsminda
  • Drive to one of the most beautifully situated monasteries in Georgia – Gergeti Holy Trinity, which lies at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level, at the foot of Mount Kazbek (5033 m)
  • Return to Gudauri, dinner and overnight

Day 6:  Gudauri – Mtskheta – Tbilisi

  • After breakfast, return and sightseeing around Tbilisi – the Jvari monastery located on the top of the hill, and then the city of Mtskheta, which was the capital of Georgia until the 5th century, visiting the legendary temple of Svetitskhoveli – the place of coronation and the eternal rest of Georgian rulers
  • Lunch in Mtskheta at a famous chef’s restaurant, who is author of popular cooking book
  • Free time, buying souvenirs, walking around the old town
  • Farewell dinner in a restaurant near the old town
  • Overnight in the hotel
