Expedition overview
DAY 1: TBILISI – GOMBORI – ALAVERDI – ABANO – OMALO
- Tour starts at 06:00 in the morning at the meeting point near the big bicycle on Rustaveli Avenue
- Departure from Tbilisi via Gombori Pass (1620 m)
- Visit Alaverdi Cathedral
- After Lechuri village, enter Stori Gorge and begin the Tusheti Road
- Cross Abano Pass (2826 m)
- Visit the visitor center in Omalo village to learn about Tusheti’s history, culture, and sights
- Visit Keselo Towers
- Check-in at a family guesthouse
- Dinner with traditional Georgian and Tushetian dishes
DAY 2: OMALO – DARTLO – DIKLO – GIREVI – TUSHETI
- Breakfast at the family hotel
- Visit villages: Dartlo, Kvavlo, Diklo, Chesho, Farsma, and Girevi
- See the courtroom where even female judges served
- Visit Tusheti towers (UNESCO-listed), restored after the destruction in Dartlo
- Lunch in nature
- Return to the hotel in the evening
- Dinner at the guesthouse
DAY 3: TUSHETI – SHENAKO
- Breakfast at the guesthouse
- Visit Shenako, Diklo, and Old Diklo
- See Diklo Castle and St. George Church in Shenako (dating back to the 19th century)
- Lunch in nature
- Return to the guesthouse in the evening
- Dinner and free time
DAY 4: SHENAKO – BOCHORNA – TBILISI
- Breakfast at the guesthouse
- Visit Que viewpoint and Bochorna, the highest inhabited village in Europe (2345 m)
- Return to Tbilisi
- Lunch on the way
- On the road, pass through villages, hamlets, waterfalls, ravines — if lucky, spot Niamor deer and other rare animals and birds

Recommendations:
- Bring comfortable sports or mountain shoes
- Pack both summer and warm clothes — hot during the day, cold in the evenings
- Bonfire or stove heating may be needed at night
- Pork and pork products are not allowed in Tusheti
- Some sacred places may be restricted for women — please respect local traditions
