Program

Day 0:

  • arrival in Tbilisi late evening hours

 Day 1: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi Sightseeing (60 km)

  • after breakfast, explore the surroundings of Tbilisi – visit Mtskheta, the former capital until the 5th century AD; visit the legendary Sveti Cchoveli Cathedral, the site of coronations and eternal rest for the rulers of Georgia; drive to the Jvari Monastery on the hilltop
  • free time for souvenir shopping and individual meals
  • explore the capital, stroll along Shota Rustaveli Avenue and in the Old Town; visit Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica; take a cable car ride to Narikala Fortress for a magnificent view of the city; walk to the waterfall in the sulfur baths district
  • optionally: visit the famous sulfur baths of Tbilisi or private baths with sauna and hot therapeutic waters; massages and peeling
  • dinner in a renowned restaurant with traditional Georgian dance performances
  • return to the hotel for overnight stay

Day 2: Tbilisi – David Gareja – Signagi – Bodbe – Supra – Signagi (250 km)

  • after breakfast, drive to the steppe in the south of the country and explore the David Gareja complex of rock monasteries, carved in the 6th century near the border with Azerbaijan
  • snack break in Udabno at a local restaurant serving specialties of Swan cuisine
  • drive to Signagi – a town with a 2.5-kilometer defensive wall, known for the oldest wine festival in Georgia; en route, visit Bodbe Monastery – the burial place of St. Nino
  • Georgian evening: organize a supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friend’s vineyard, with wine tasting, local dishes, and Georgian cuisine workshops (e.g., baking bread or making churchkhela)
  • overnight stay at a hotel in Signagi

Day 3: Signagi – Alazani Valley – Gremi – Wine tour – Supra – Signagi (130 km)

  • after breakfast, sightseeing in Kakheti – departure to Alazani, one of the largest valleys in Europe
  • stop at the local market in Gurjaani
  • visit to the vineyard and museum in Numisi, Kindzmarauli wine factory, Khareba vineyard – a tunnel converted into a wine warehouse – tastings
  • visiting the Gremi fortress, which was the capital of the kingdom of Kakheti until the 16th century
  • organization of supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly host’s vineyard, combined with tasting of wines and local dishes, workshops on Georgian cuisine (baking bread, making churchkhela or khinkali) and with live music
  • return to Signagi, overnight stay

Day 4: Signagi – Ananuri – Gudauri / Stepantsminda (260 km)

  • after breakfast, departure from Kakheti towards the famous Georgian Military Road
  • stop for an individual meal
  • along the way, a stop at the Ananuri fortress from the 17th century, picturesquely situated on the Zhinvali reservoir
  • stop at a beautiful viewpoint just before the Krzyżowa Pass (2395 m above sea level)
  • dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Gudauri / Stepantsminda

Day 5: Gudauri / Stepantsminda – Truso Valley – Tsminda Sameba – Gudauri / Stepantsminda (40 km)

  • after breakfast, departure by off-road vehicle to the Truso Valley, known for its springs
  • minerals, lakes, medieval defensive towers, the Abano monastery and
  • Zakagori Fortress
  • a walk around the valley, tasting mineral waters, an outdoor picnic with local shepherds and baking kebabs
  • transfer to the town of Stepantsminda (formerly Kazbegi), and entry to one of the most beautifully situated monasteries in Georgia – Tsminda Sameba, which is located at an altitude of 2,170 m above sea level. at the foot of Mount Kazbek (5033 m above sea level)
  • return to Gudauri/Stepantsminda, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Day 6: Gudauri / Stepantsminda – Uplistsikhe – Borjomi – Akhaltsikhe (340 km)

  • after breakfast, departure towards Uplistsikhe – the oldest rock city in Georgia, where the settlement dates back to the second millennium BC.
  • lunch break on your own
  • transfer to Borjomi – a short stop at the famous Georgian health resort with a spa park and sources of healing mineral water
  • transfer to Akhaltsikhe, stop at the Rabati fortress, a city of intersection of many cultures
  • accommodation, dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Akhaltsikhe

Day 7: Akhaltsikhe – Vardzia – Chertvisi – Rabati – Abastumani – Akhaltsikhe (180 km)

  • after breakfast, transfer to the monumental rock city of Vardzia, founded in the times of Queen Tamara (12th-13th centuries), which in its heyday could accommodate up to 50,000 people. inhabitants
  • visiting the Khertwisi fortress, whose construction began in the 2nd century BC
  • visiting the Rabati fortress – a place of intersection of many cultures, the largest building of this type in Georgia
  • visit to the old health resort with the unique microclimate of Abastumani, where
  • there is the Romanov palace, for those interested, a visit to the thermal water pools
  • return to Akhaltsikhe, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Akhaltsikhe

Day 8: Akhaltsikhe – Zarzma – Batumi (180 km)

  • after breakfast, off-road trip to Batumi via Goderdzi Pass; stop at the Zarzma monastery stop at the Zarzma monastery from the turn of the 6th and 7th centuries
  • lunch/snack along the way
  • arrival in Batumi and check-in at the hotel

Days 9/10/11/12: We can extend our stay in Batumi for any number of days. On site, we leave you under the care of our local partner, we can also organize any trips around the area or attractions on site in Batumi

 

Day 13: Transfer Batumi – Tbilisi (360 km)

  • after breakfast, free time for sunbathing until noon
  • transfer to Tbilisi, farewell dinner on the way
  • overnight stay at the hotel and rest before the flight

Day 14: Transfer to the Airport (20 km)

  • transfer to the airport for departure

In Batumi, we have contacts with accommodation facilities and offer optional trips around city and surroundings. Once there, we leave you under the care of our local partner. The price also includes transfer from Batumi to the airport after the stay. Upon request, we can also prepare a full offer for your stay in Batumi (e.g. 10, 14 days), in this case it is our responsibility to book accommodation and additional program in Batumi. The offer provided is an example offer – it may be enriched with additional trips optional at the customer’s request.
