Program

Day 1: Kutaisi airport – Tbilisi

  • Arrival in Kutaisi
  • Lunch break after flight near Kutaisi
  • Transfer to Tbilisi and hotel accommodation
  • Welcome dinner in the old town
  • Night tour of the old town for those willing
  • Overnight stay at a hotel

Day 2: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi city tour

  • After breakfast, visit Jvari monastery and Mtskheta – the capital of Georgia until the 5th century and temple of Svetitskhoveli – the place of coronation and burial of Georgian kings
  • Lunch break near Mtskheta
  • Return to tbilisi
  • In the evening Tbilisi city tour – explore the old town, Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, cable car ride to the Narikala fortress with a wonderful panoramic view of the city, walk to the waterfall located in the city center, in the district of sulfur baths.
  • Optional visit for swimming in sulfur baths 
  • Dinner in a famous restaurant, combined with a traditional Georgian dance show
  • Return to the hotel for the night

Day 3: Tbilisi – Kakheti – Omalo

  • After breakfast departure to Kakheti through picturesque  Gombori Pass
  • On the way stop at the bazaar, shopping
  • Off- Road to Omalo through Abano Pass (2962 m. ) – one of the most beautiful and extremal roads in Caucasus, available only a few months in the year; picnic or lunch on the way
  • Dinner and overnight in guesthouse, Omalo 

Day  4: Omalo – Cheso – Parsma – Shenako – Diklo – Omalo

  • After  breakfast visit the mountain villages – Chesho and Parsma with middle age castles there.
  • Visit to the villages Shenako and Diklo located in Tusheti region
  • Piknik
  • Easy trekking to the Pichekhi castles
  • Back to Omalo village, evening with wine and chacha, Georgian barbeque – mtsvadi made on the fire  and amazing local musicians.
  • Overnight in Omalo
  • an optional horseback riding tour from Omalo to Szenako and Diklo can be organized on this day

Day 5: Omalo – Supra – Telavi

  • After the breakfast departure from Omalo to Kakheti region
  • Explore Kaheti region – known not only for winemaking traditions, but for unique middle age villages and cities, castles, monasteries, where lots of important things happened in the history of Georgia.
  • Georgian evening: organization of a supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly farmer on the vineyard, combined with wine and local food tasting, Georgian cuisine workshops (baking bread, making churcheli or khinkali) and live music
  • Overnight in the hotel

Day 6: Telavi – Ananuri – Stepantsminda

  • After breakfast, heading in direction of Georgian Military Road – on the way visiting the Ananuri fortress from the 17th century, located by the Zhinvali water reservoir, photo stop at the Jvari Pass (2379 m above sea level)
  • Lunch break
  • Stop at a beautiful vantage point in front of the Jvari Pass (2379m)
  • Accommodation in Stepantsminda (formerly Kazbegi), free time, walking around the city
  • Dinner and overnight 

Day 7: Stepantsminda – Dolina Truso – Tsminda Sameba – Stepantsminda

  • After breakfast, all day off-road to the Truso Valley, known for its mineral springs, lakes, medieval defensive towers;  Abano monastery and the Zakagori fortress
  • A walk through the  valley, tasting the mineral waters and an outdoor picnic with local shepherds and baking skewers
  • In the afternoon, drive to one of the most beautifully situated monasteries in Georgia – Tsminda Sameba, which lies at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level. at the foot of Mount Kazbek (5033 m)
  • Return to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), evening walk, dinner and overnight

Day 8: Stepantsminda – Pasanauri – Tbilisi

  • After breakfast return towards Tbilisi
  • optional rafting on the Aragvi river combined with a picnic by the river
  • return to Tbilisi, accommodation
  • walk around the city center, free time, possibility to buy souvenirs
  • dinner in a well-known Georgian restaurant, return to the hotel for overnight stay

Day 9: Tbilisi – Uplistsikhe – Kutaisi

  • After breakfast, departure to Uplistsikhe, the oldest rock city in Georgia, where the settlement dates back to the second millennium BC
  • Lunch on the way
  • Transfer to Kutaisi
  • Supra in agritourism with Georgian cuisine workshops and live music
  • free time, walk around the old capital of Colchis
  • overnight stay at a hotel

Day 10: Transfer to Kutaisi airport

  • Transfer to the airport and departure to Poland

  • All-day off-road to Truso Valley and an outdoor picnic with local shepherds and baking skewers
