Program

Day 0:

  • late arrival in the Tbilisi airport

Day 1: Tbilisi – Keselo Castle – Omalo (190 km)

  • early morning arrival in the tbilisi airport, breakfast
  • early morning departure from Tbilisi to Telavi in Kakheti, shopping at the local market
  • off-road transfer to Tusheti through the picturesque landscapes of the Abano Pass at 2862m.
  • picnic at the pass
  • arrival in Omalo and visit to the medieval Keselo Castle
  • accommodation in a cozy guesthouse in Omalo and welcome dinner
  • overnight stay at the guesthouse

Day 2: Omalo – Bochorna – Dochu – Beghela – Iliurta – Jvarboseli

  • breakfast at the family guesthouse, assembly and start of the trek around 10 am
  • horseback ride to the Kue viewpoint, passing through Bochorna, the highest inhabited village in Europe, visits to the villages of Dochu and Beghela
  • picnic in nature
  • continuation of the trek through the charming villages of Iliurta and Jvarboseli
  • arrival in the village of Jvarboseli and accommodation at a family guesthouse for the night
  • end the day with a delicious homemade dinner

 

Day 3: Jvarboseli – Verkhovani – Dadikurta – Parsma – Cheso – Dartlo

  • breakfast at the guesthouse, preparing the horses for the next stage of the journey
  • departure towards lesser-known villages Verkhovani and Dadikurta
  • picnic at the Nakaicho Pass surrounded by beautiful panoramic views
  • ride through the villages of Parsma and Cheso until reaching Dartlo
  • accommodation in one of the most beautiful villages surrounded by old towers – Dartlo
  • dinner at a family guesthouse with Tushetian cuisine specialties

Day 4: Dartlo – Kvavlo – Chigo – Diklo

  • breakfast at the guesthouse, preparing the horses for the trek
  • visit to the unique village of Kvavlo, known for its amazing views, now inhabited by only one family
  • continuation of the journey to the village of Chigo and lunch break in nature
  • horseback ride towards the Tutarek Pass and the next region of Tusheti
  • arrival in the village of Diklo, accommodation in a guesthouse for the night and homemade dinner

Day 5: Diklo – Old Diklo – Shenako – Omalo

  • breakfast, preparing the horses for the trek
  • visit to the picturesque Old Diklo fortress
  • heading to the village of Shenako, known for the 19th-century church dedicated to St. George, and exploring the picturesque village, one of the most populous in Tusheti
  • return to Omalo in the evening, the starting point of our trek
  • accommodation in a local guesthouse, dinner with Georgian delicacies

Day 6: Omalo – Alaverdi – Tbilisi (190 km)

  • breakfast, return from Omalo to Kakheti, through the picturesque Abano Pass
  • visit to a local winery, winery tour, wine tasting, and Georgian supra with typical Kakhetian dishes, short culinary workshop, rest
  • return to Tbilisi via the scenic Gombori Pass
  • accommodation in a hotel, overnight stay

Day 7: Exploring Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi (60 km)

  • breakfast at the hotel
  • after breakfast, sightseeing in the capital, a stroll along Shota Rustaveli Avenue and through the old town, visiting Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, taking the cable car to Narikala Fortress with a magnificent view of the city, a walk to the waterfall located in the city center, in the sulfur baths district
  • free time in the old town for souvenir shopping
  • for those interested (optional), a visit to the famous Tbilisi sulfur baths, visiting private baths with sauna and hot sulfuric waters, massages, and peeling
  • farewell dinner at a restaurant near the old town with traditional Georgian dishes, toasts, and wine
  • return to the hotel for overnight stay

Day 8: Transfer to the airport

  • Tusheti – a historical region in northeastern Georgia. Its mysterious part differs from all other parts of Georgia. The nature is diverse and enchanting for tourists.
  • Omalo – the capital of Tusheti, one of the wildest and most inaccessible regions of the Caucasus. Accessible only for a few months a year via the only off-road access road through the Abano Pass at 2850m.
  • Abano Pass – The road to Omalo, also known as the Abano Pass, is known for being one of the most treacherous and dangerous roads in the world.
  • Bochorna – a village in Tusheti, considered the highest inhabited settlement in Europe, at an altitude of 2,345 meters above sea level.
  • Lake Oreti – located in the protected area of Tusheti at an altitude of 2650 meters above sea level. Lake Oreti offers beautiful views from which you can see the whole of Tusheti.
  • Alaverdi – the main temple of Kakheti.

Price includes
