Program

Day 1: Kutaisi Airport – Tbilisi (250 km)

  • departure from Poland and arrival in Kutaisi
  • a short stop for a snack after the flight
  • transfer to Tbilisi and hotel accommodation, rest
  • welcome dinner in the old town with local dishes
  • for those interested, a night tour of the old town
  • overnight stay at a hotel in Tbilisi

Day 2: Tbilisi Sightseeing – Sarajishvili Factory – Tbilisi (40 km)

  • after breakfast full-day tour of Tbilisi: a walk along Shota Rustaveli Avenue, the old city; visiting the main monuments of the capital: the Sioni Cathedral and the Anchiskhati Basilica – the oldest monastery in Tbilisi; a cable car ride to the Narikala fortress, which offers a wonderful view of the city; walk to the waterfall located in the city center in the sulfur baths district
  • free time, a break for an individual meal and the opportunity to purchase souvenirs
  • visit to the Sarajishvili brandy factory in Tbilisi combined with alcohol tasting
  • cable car ride to the Mtatsminda viewpoint
  • dinner at a famous Georgian restaurant combined with a show of traditional Georgian dances
  • return to the hotel for overnight stay in Tbilisi

Day 3: Tbilisi – Signagi – Bodbe – Supra – Tbilisi (260 km)

  • after breakfast, drive east to Kakheti – a land known not only for wine production, but also for its unique medieval heritage – historic and restored towns, fortresses and monasteries, which are important religious centers with which the history of Georgia is closely connected,
  • drive to Signagi – a town with a 2.5-kilometer defensive wall, known for the oldest wine festival in Georgia, and on the way visiting the Bodbe Monastery – the burial place of Saint. Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity
  • organization of supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly host’s vineyard, combined with tasting wines and local dishes, Georgian cuisine workshops (baking bread or making churchkhela) and live music
  • return to Tbilisi and overnight stay at the hotel

Day 4: Tbilisi – Stepantsminda – Tsminda Sameba – Gudauri (180 km)

  • after breakfast, departure from Tbilisi towards the famous Georgian Military Road, connecting Tbilisi with Vladikavkaz
  • lunch break on your own
  • stop at a beautiful viewpoint just before the Jvari Pass (2,395 m above sea level)
  • entry to one of the most beautifully situated monasteries in Georgia – Tsminda Sameba, which is located at an altitude of 2,170 m above sea level. at the foot of Mount Kazbek (5033 m above sea level)
  • transfer to Gudauri, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Day 5: Gudauri – Ananuri – Mtskheta – Tbilisi – Baku (150 km)

  • after breakfast, transfer to Tbilisi, along the way a stop at the Ananuri fortress from the 17th century, picturesquely located on the Zhinvali reservoir
  • sightseeing – the city of Mtskheta, which until the 5th century AD served as the capital; visiting the legendary temple of Svetitskhoveli, the coronation and final resting place of the rulers of Georgia; transfer to the Jvari Monastery located on the top of the hill
  • free time, lunch break on your own
  • return to Tbilisi
  • in the evening, a night train to Baku (overnight in couchettes)

Day 6: Baku – Itsheri Sheher – Ateshgah Fire Temple – Yanar Dag – Baku (80 km)

  • in the morning arrival in Baku, accommodation in the hotel and breakfast on site, rest
  • visiting the old town of Itsheri Sheher (UNESCO), mosque (Shirvanshah Palace from the 13th century, Tower of the Virgins from the 12th century, entrance to the hill to the Memorial Park with a panoramic view of the city
  • transfer to the town of Surakhani, visiting the Ateshgah Fire Temple – a Zoroastrian temple from the 17th century.
  • yanar Dag – burning earth from which gas has been burning continuously for decades.
  • in the evening return to Baku, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Day 7: Baku – Gobustan National Park – Baku (80 km)

  • after breakfast, visiting the Gobustan National Park, where there are rocks with prehistoric petroglyphs, the first settlements of prehistoric people are also found in the park, light trekking in the field. The facility is on the UNESCO List
  • driveway to the volcanic mud – a ride on the żygulinamy boats, a mud bath available on site for those interested
  • return to Baku, seaside boulevard with little Venice
  • dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Day 8: Baku – Naftalan (335 km)

  • after breakfast, transfer to Naftalan – accommodation in the Spa hotel, visit to the oil baths (visiting the baths in one of the hotels depending on availability),
  • return to the hotel, optional massages and/or swimming in the pool,
  • dinner on site and overnight stay at the hotel

Day 9: Naftalan – Ganja – Tbilisi (270 km)

  • after breakfast, arrival in the city of Ganja – the second largest city in Azerbaijan with a beautiful old town, visiting the main monuments (the Juma mosque from the 17th century, the Imamzade complex from the 17th-19th centuries, the bottle house),
  • further transfer to the border with Georgia around 5:00 p.m. – here we cross the border on foot and on the other side a bus is waiting for us, which will take us to Tbilisi
  • dinner at a local restaurant in Tbilisi
  • overnight stay at a hotel in Tbilisi

 Day 10: Tbilisi – Uplistsikhe – Gori – Kutaisi (250 km)

  • after breakfast, departure to Uplistsikhe, the oldest rock city in Georgia, where settlements date back to the second millennium BC.
  • transfer to Gori – the hometown of Joseph Stalin and a short stop at the Stalin Museum, next to which there is the house where the leader was born and the wagon in which he traveled
  • break for an individual meal
  • dinner at a local restaurant or Georgian evening: organization of supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly host’s vineyard, combined with tasting of alcohol, local dishes and Imereti cuisine workshops
  • overnight stay at a hotel

 Day 11 Transfer to Kutaisi Airport (25 km)

  • departure to the airport

  • Visit to the “Sarajishvili” brandy factory – the first and oldest Georgian brandy since 1884 and tasting of selected VSOP and XO spirits.
  • Georgian Military Road – one of the most spectacular mountain routes with the Cross Pass (2,395 m above sea level) and the Ananuri Fortress located on the Zhinvali Reservoir.
  • Stepantsminda – a city among the High Caucasus Mountains with the Tsminda Sameba temple located against the backdrop of the majestic Mount Prometheus – Kazbek, standing 5054 m above sea level.
  • Davit Gareja – a famous complex of rock monasteries, carved already in the 6th century, located near the border with Azerbaijan and lunch in the town of Udabno on the steppes in a cozy restaurant serving specialties of the Swan cuisine.
  • Kutaisi – The third largest city in Georgia, known from mythology for the story of the Argonauts and the search for the golden fleece. It is the capital of the Imereti region, featuring a charming old town and the majestic Bagrati Cathedral of 1003 rising above the city.
  • Uplistsikhe – the oldest rock city in Georgia, where the first traces of settlement date back to 2,000 BC, one of the most important trading points on the Silk Road.
  • Icherisheher (Old City) – the pearl of the Azerbaijani people and a source of pride for every citizen of Azerbaijan.
  • Baku – the capital and commercial center of Azerbaijan is a low-lying city with a coastline along the Caspian Sea.
  • Yanar Dag – a natural gas fire that constantly burns on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku.
  • Gobustan National Park – home to the longest continuous tradition of cave art in the world, dating back to the Paleolithic era.
  • Naftalan – a city in Azerbaijan, surrounded by the Goranboy district. It is located on an agricultural plain near the Lesser Caucasus Mountains.
  • Ganja – the second largest city in Azerbaijan and the fourth largest in the South Caucasus.
