Program

Day 1: Tbilisi airport – Tbilisi city tour

  • Arrival at the Tbilisi international airport, hotel accommodation, time to rest.
  • Tbilisi city tour – explore the old town, Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, cable car to the Narikala fortress with a wonderful panoramic view of the city, walk to the waterfall located in the city center, in the district of sulphur baths. You will see and feel how past and present are co-living in this amazing city 
  • Free time
  • Dinner in a famous restaurant, combined with a show of traditional Georgian dances
  • Return to the hotel

Day 2: Tbilisi – Bodbe – Gurjaani – Supra – Tbilisi 

  • After breakfast, departure to Kakheti – a land known for its wine production and unique medieval heritage. Drive to the steppes in the south of the country and visit the complex of David Gareja rock monasteries from the 6th century 
  • Transfer to Sighnaghi – a town with a 2.5-kilometer defensive wall, known for the oldest wine festival in Georgia, and on the way visiting the Bodbe Monastery – the burial place of St. Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity
  • Supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly farmers house on a vineyard, wine degustation and local food tasting, Georgian cuisine workshops (baking bread, making churchkhela or khinkali) with traditional live music 
  • Return to the hotel in Tbilisi

Day 3: Tbilisi – Sarajishvili factory – Mtskheta – Ananuri – Gudauri

  • after breakfast, departure to the Sarajishvili cognac factory, see production processes and cognac tasting
  • After breakfast, visit the monastery of Jvari and Mtskheta – the capital of Georgia until the 5th century and Svetitskhoveli cathedral  – the place of coronation and burial of Georgian kings 
  • After breakfast, drive to Stepantsminda of Georgian Military Road, connecting Tbilisi to Vladikavkaz 
  • On the way visiting the Ananuri fortress from the 17th century, located by the Zhinvali water reservoir 
  • Photo stop at the Jvari Pass (2379 m) 
  • Accommodation in Gudauri, free time.  Dinner and overnight

Day 4: Gudauri – Truso Valley – Gergeti Holy Trinity – Gudauri

  • After breakfast, all day off-road to the Truso Valley, known for its mineral springs, lakes, medieval defensive towers, the Abano monastery and the Zakagori fortress 
  • A walk in the valley, tasting the mineral waters and an outdoor picnic with local shepherds and baking skewers
  • In the afternoon, drive to one of the most beautifully situated monasteries in Georgia – Tsminda Sameba, which lies at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level, at the foot of Mount Kazbek (5033 m)
  • Return to Gudauri, dinner and overnight

Day 5: Gudauri – Uplistsikhe – Gori – Kutaisi

  • After breakfast, visiting Uplistsikhe, the oldest cave city in the Caucasus region, dates back to the second millennium BC.
  • Visit  Gori -Stalin’s hometown and a short stop at the Stalin Museum, next to which there is the house where the commander was born and the wagon with he used for traveling
  • Lunch break
  • Transfer to Kutaisi and hotel accommodation, free time, walk around the old capital of Colchis
  • dinner and overnight at the hotel in Kutaisi

Day 6: Kutaisi city tour 

  • After breakfast, visit the largest, Prometheus Cave in Georgia, the length of the underground route is almost 1.5 km, the entrance is at an altitude of about 100 m above sea level, and the lowest point in the cave is 40 m below sea level, in one of the six chambers there is a light show for Georgian music
  • Return to Kutaisi, currently the second largest city in Georgia and the capital of the Imereti region, lunch break, short city tour and visit Bagrati Cathedral
  • Transfer to two historical and  meaningful monasteries for Georgians: Motsameta with a tragic history in the background and Gelati – a medieval monastery complex entered in the UNESCO list
  • Evening supra in guesthouse with local Georgian cuisine workshops and live music
  • Return to Kutaisi and overnight at the hotel

Day 7: Kutaisi – Martvili canyon – Batumi

  • After breakfast, visit the picturesque Martvili canyon and short boat trip
  • Transfer to Batumi, a bustling Georgian resort on the Black Sea
  • Hotel accommodation; free time (possible walk along the atmospheric streets of the old town and visiting the port, cable car ride to the viewpoint, Ali and Nino monument)
  • Dinner at the restaurant with Adjarian specialties
  • Overnight at hotel in Batumi

Day 8:  Batumi – Mirveti – Makhuntseti – Batumi

  • After breakfast, free time (to rest on the beach or explore the city and the seaside boulevard)

a day trip to the waterfalls and the vineyard supra for those willing

(drive along the captivating route to the Machunceti (Makhuntseti) and Mirweti (Mirveti) waterfalls and visiting medieval stone bridges, visit to a vineyard located in the mountains of Adjara, from which there is a beautiful view of the surrounding area; tasting local alcoholic drinks, lunch consisting of traditional Adjara dishes)

 

  • Return to Batumi and free time
  • Dinner at a local restaurant in the evening
  • Overnight at a hotel in Batumi

Day 9: Batumi – Tbilisi

  • After breakfast, return to Tbilisi and check-in at the hotel
  • Free time (for a visit to a museum, flea market or sulfur baths, shopping)
  • Dinner in a restaurant with live music
  • Overnight at a hotel in Tbilisi

Day 10: Transfer to the airport

  • Transfer to the airport
