Program

Day 1: Kutaisi airport- Tbilisi

  • Arrival in Kutaisi
  • Transfer to Tbilisi and hotel accommodation
  • Welcome dinner in the old town
  • Night tours of the old town for volunteers
  • Overnight at the hotel

Day 2: Tbilisi city tour

  • After breakfast, sightseeing of the capital, a walk along Shota Rustaveli Avenue and the old town, Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, a cable car ride to the Narikala fortress with a magnificent view of the city, walk to the waterfall located in the city center, in the district of sulphur baths.
  • Free time for lunch, buying souvenirs
  • Optional visit for swimming in sulfur baths
  • Dinner in a famous restaurant, combined with a show of traditional Georgian dances
  • Return to the hotel for an overnight stay

Day3: Tbilisi – Bodbe – Gurjaani – Supra – Tbilisi 

  • After breakfast at the hotel, departure to Kakheti – a land known for its wine production, rich with medieval fortresses, charming towns and magnificent monasteries
  • Transfer to Sighnaghi – a town with a 2.5-kilometer defensive wall, known for the oldest wine festival in Georgia, and on the way visiting the Bodbe Monastery – the burial place of St. Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity
  • Supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly farmers house on a vineyard, wine degustation and local food tasting, Georgian cuisine workshops (baking bread, making churchkhela or khinkali) with traditional live music
  • Return to Tbilisi and overnight in the hotel

Day 4: Tbilisi – Sarajishvili factory – Mtskheta – Ananuri – Gudauri

  • After breakfast, departure to the Sarajishvili cognac factory, to see the production processes and tasting
  • Visiting Jvari monastery, located on the top of the hill and Mtskheta, which was the capital until the 5th century, with the legendary temple of Svetiskhoveli – the place of coronation and burial place of Georgian rulers
  • Departure towards the famous Georgian Military Road, connecting Tbilisi with Vladikavkaz. On the way a stop at the Ananuri fortress from the 17th century, picturesquely situated over the Zhinvali reservoir
  • Photo stop at the Jvari Pass (2379 m)
  • Accommodation in Gudauri, dinner and overnight

Day 5: Gudauri – Truso Valley – Gergeti Holy Trinity – Gudauri

  • After breakfast, all day off-road to the Truso Valley, known for its mineral springs, lakes, medieval defensive towers, the Abano monastery and the Zakagori fortress 
  • A walk in the  valley, tasting the mineral waters and an outdoor picnic with local shepherds and baking skewers
  • In the afternoon, drive to one of the most beautifully situated monasteries in Georgia – Gergeti Holy Trinity, which lies at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level, at the foot of Mount Kazbek (5033 m)
  • Return to Gudauri, dinner and overnight

Day 6: Gudauri – Uplistsikhe – Gori – Kutaisi

  • After breakfast, departure towards Uplistsikhe, the oldest cave city in the Georgia, dates back to the second millennium BC
  • Visiting Gori, a short stop at the Stalin museum, where there is the house the commander was born and the wagon in which he travelled
  • Lunch break
  • Transfer to Kutaisi and hotel accommodation, free time, walk around the old capital of Colchis
  • dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 7: Kutaisi city tour 

  • After breakfast, visit the largest Prometheus Cave in Georgia, the length of the underground route is almost 1.5 km, the entrance is located at an altitude of about 100 m above sea level, and the lowest point in the cave is 40 m below sea level, in one of the six chambers there is a light show to Georgian music
  • Return to Kutaisi, currently the second largest city in Georgia and the capital of the Imereti region, break for lunch, short tour of the city and the Bagrati Cathedral
  • Drive to two historic and extremely important monasteries for Georgians: Mocameta with a tragic history in the background and Gelati – a medieval monastery complex listed on the UNESCO
  • Evening supra in guesthouse with Georgian cuisine workshops and live music
  • Return to Kutaisi and overnight at the hotel

Day 8: Kutaisi – Martvili canyon – Batumi

  • After breakfast, visit the picturesque Martvili canyon and a short boat trip

  • Hotel accommodation
  • Free time (possible walk along the atmospheric streets of the old town and visiting the port, cable car ride to the viewpoint, Ali and Nino monument)
  • Dinner at the restaurant with Adjarian specialties
  • Overnight at a hotel in Batumi

Day 9: Batumi – Mirveti – Makhuntseti – Batumi

  • After breakfast, free time (to rest on the beach or explore the city and the seaside boulevard)

a day trip to the waterfalls and the vineyard supra for those willing

(drive along the captivating route to the Machunceti (Makhuntseti) and Mirweti (Mirveti) waterfalls and visiting medieval stone bridges, visit to a vineyard located in the mountains of Adjara, from which there is a beautiful view of the surrounding area; tasting local alcoholic drinks, lunch consisting of traditional Adjara dishes)

 

  • Return to Batumi and free time
  • Dinner at a local restaurant in the evening
  • Overnight at a hotel in Batumi

Day 10: Batumi – Transfer to the airport

  • Breakfast at the hotel/free time
  • Transfer to the airport and flight to Poland
