Program

Day 1: Kutaisi Airport – Kutaisi city (25 km)

  • arrival in Kutaisi airport
  • transfer to Kutaisi, currently the third largest city in Georgia and the capital of the Imereti region
  • a short stop for a snack after the flight on your own
  • hotel accommodation, free time
  • for those interested, sightseeing of the old town together with the Bagrati Cathedral
  • welcome dinner at a local restaurant with Imereti cuisine specialities
  • overnight stay at a hotel in Kutaisi

Day 2: Kutaisi – Prometheus Cave – Zugdidi – Enguri – Mestia (240 km)

  • after breakfast, optional visit to the Prometheus Cave located near Kutaisi, the length of the underground route is almost 1.5 km, the entrance is at an altitude of about 100 m above sea level, and the lowest point in the cave is 40 m below sea level, in one of the six chambers the light show to Georgian music
  • drive along the breathtaking road to Svaneti; along the way, a stop at the world’s third highest and extremely impressive dam on the Enguri River and in Zugdidi at the Dadiani Palace
  • arrival in Mestia, a city with medieval stone towers and buildings inscribed on the UNESCO list. It is Reinhold Messner’s favorite place and a mecca for climbers with the unique two-peaked mountain Ushba
  • dinner and overnight stay in guesthouse

Day 3: Mestia – Ushguli – Hatsvali – Mestia (100 km)

  • after breakfast, full-day jeep trip along a narrow and winding mountain route to Ushguli – one of the highest situated villages in Europe, where time stood still, known for its 37 preserved stone towers dating back to the 9th-12th centuries.
  • lunch break on your own
  • a lift ride to the Hatswali viewpoint with a restaurant offering a view of the beautiful panorama of the Svanetian mountains
  • return along the mountain serpentine to Mestia
  • dinner and overnight stay in an agritourism farm

Day 4: Mestia – Batumi (260 km)

  • after breakfast, return to the lowlands and drive towards Batumi, a bustling Georgian resort on the Black Sea
  • accommodation and free time (possibility to walk along the atmospheric streets of the old town and visit the port, take the cable car to the viewpoint, the Ali and Nino monument)
  • dinner at a restaurant with Ajara specialties
  • overnight stay at a hotel in Batumi

Day 5: Batumi – Sarpi – Ayder – Trabzon (245 km)

  • after breakfast, transfer to Sarpi – crossing the border
  • visit to the Fırtına River – Rafting
  • transfer to visit Zil Castle – (with shuttle buses)
  • visit and lunch in Ayder
  • transfer to Trabzon – a city with a centuries-old past through which the Silk Road ran and is currently the most important city in the eastern, Turkish part of the Black Sea, both in terms of trade and culture
  • hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay in Trabzon

Day 6: Trabzon – Sumela Monastery – Hagia Sophia – Trabzon (150 km)

  • After breakfast, visit the Sumela Monastery
  • ride to Hagia Sophia
  • lunch
  • transfer and visit to Ataturk’s residence
  • dinner at a local restaurant with Horon folk dancing
  • overnight stay in Trabzon

Day 7: Trabzon – Giresun – Ordu – Trabzon (250 km)

  • after breakfast, visit to Giresun Island
  • transfer to the town of Ordu, cable car ride
  • free time, lunch on your own
  • dinner at a local restaurant
  • overnight stay in Trabzon

Day 8: Trabzon – Uzungöl – Sarpi – Batumi (295 km)

  • after breakfast, visit to the Tea Factory
  • transfer to Lake Uzungöl
  • free time, lunch on your own
  • transfer to Sarpi – crossing the border, transfer to Batumi, accommodation
  • dinner at a local restaurant
  • overnight stay at a hotel in Batumi

Day 9: Batumi – Makhuntseti – Mirveti – Batumi (100 km)

  • after breakfast, free time (possibility to go to the beach)
  • drive along a captivating route to the Makhuntseti and Mirveti waterfalls
  • visiting the medieval stone bridge from the times of Queen Tamar
  • visit to a vineyard located in the Adjara mountains, with a beautiful view of the surrounding area; tasting of local alcohols, dinner with traditional dishes from the Adjara region
  • accommodation and overnight stay in Batumi

Day 10: Transfer to Kutaisi Airport (130 km)

  • transfer to the airport

  • Kutaisi – he third-largest city in Georgia, known from mythology for the story of the Argonauts and the search for the Golden Fleece. The capital of the Imereti region with a charming old town and the majestic Bagrati Cathedral from 1003, towering over the city.
  • Batumi – also known as “Little Dubai”, the second-largest city and the capital of the Adjara region. The Black Sea pearl of Georgia, fascinating everyone with its views of the sea and mountains.
  • Enguri – a curved dam on the Enguri River in the western part of the country near Abkhazia. It has a height of 272 m and a length of 728 m. Operational since 1987, it ranks among the tallest dam reservoirs in the world.
  • Dadiani Palace – the residence of one of the most famous Georgian princely families from the 19th century.
  • Mestia and Svaneti – a region known for its fantastic landscapes, untouched nature, unique folklore, cultural treasures, and courageous mountaineers living in stone towers.
  • Ushguli – one of the highest villages in Europe with 37 stone residential-defense towers, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, overlooking Georgia’s highest peak – Mount Shkhara at 5193m above sea level.
  • Georgian traditional supra – a traditional dinner with toasts, live music, and Georgian cuisine specialties at a private vineyard, with workshops on local cuisine.
  • Trabzon – a city with a centuries-old history through which the Silk Road passed and now serves as the most important city in the eastern, Turkish part of the Black Sea, both in terms of trade and culture.
  • Lake Uzungöl – located south of the city of Trabzon, in the Çaykara district of Trabzon province, the picturesque lake, its village, and the surrounding valley have become popular tourist attractions.
  • Sumela Monastery – founded by the Greeks in the 4th century, it incredibly clings to a steep cliff, high above the evergreen forests.
