Georgia is easy to reach by air, both on direct services and with one connection. The country has three main international airports: Tbilisi (TBS), Kutaisi (KUT) and Batumi (BUS).

Direct flights

Direct connections depend on your departure city and season. Tbilisi is usually the best arrival airport for travellers heading to the capital, Kakheti, Kazbegi, Gudauri, Tusheti or Khevsureti. Kutaisi is a convenient gateway to western Georgia, including Svaneti, Imereti, Samegrelo and Batumi.

Airline schedules change seasonally, so always check the current timetable before purchasing your ticket.

Connecting flights to Georgia

If a direct service does not fit your travel plans, there are many convenient one-stop options. One of the most popular routes is via Istanbul, with regular onward connections to Tbilisi. Other European and regional hubs may also be available depending on the travel date.

Main airports in Georgia

Tbilisi International Airport (TBS)Georgia's main airport, around 17 km from central Tbilisi. The best choice for the capital and the eastern and central parts of the country.

Kutaisi International Airport (KUT)An important low-cost gateway in western Georgia with numerous connections to European cities.

Batumi International Airport (BUS)Located close to Batumi on the Black Sea and particularly convenient for travellers visiting Adjara and the Georgian coast.

How to get from the airport?

From Tbilisi Airport

The airport is around 17 km from the city centre. You can use Bolt, an official airport taxi, public transport or a pre-booked private transfer. Driving time is usually around 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.

From Kutaisi Airport

Kutaisi Airport has road connections to Georgia's main cities. Coach, shuttle, taxi and private transfer options are available, with services adapted to flight schedules.

From Batumi Airport

The airport is very close to the city. The journey to central Batumi usually takes around 10–15 minutes. Bolt, local taxi services, public transport and private transfers are available.
