Expedition overview
Day 0:
- arrival in Tbilisi in the late evening hours
Day 1: Tbilisi airport – Tbilisi sightseeing (20 km)
- late arrival in Tbilisi, hotel accommodation, time to rest
- after breakfast at the hotel, sightseeing in the old town, walk along Rustaveli Shota Avenue, Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, cable car ride to the Narikala Fortress with a wonderful view of the city, walk to the waterfall located in the city center, in the district sulfur baths
- 14:00 – 16:00 lunch in the city
- 16:00 – 20:00 free time in the city to buy souvenirs and for those interested (optional) a visit to the famous Tbilisi sulfur baths, a visit to private baths with a sauna and hot health waters, massages and peeling
- visit to the factory of the oldest Georgian brandy Sarajishvili and tasting of XO VIP brandy
- 20:00 – 23.00 dinner at a famous restaurant, combined with a show of traditional Georgian dances
- return to the hotel for overnight stay in Tbilisi
Day 2: Tbilisi – David Gareja – Signagi – Bodbe – Kachreti (235 km)
- 08:00 – 09:00 breakfast at the hotel
- 09:00 – 13:00 transfer to the steppe in the south of the country and visiting the complex of David Gareja rock monasteries, carved in the 6th century right next to the border with Azerbaijan
- 13:00 – 15:00 refreshments in Udabno, traditional Georgian dinner with delicacies of Svan cuisine, optional Georgian cuisine workshops
- 15:00 – 18:00 visiting Signagi – a town with a 2.5-kilometer defensive wall, known for the oldest wine festival in Georgia and the Bodbe Monastery – a place burial of Saint Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity
- 18:00 – 19:00 transfer to Kachreti, accommodation in the hotel,
- 20:00 – 22:00 dinner at the hotel with Kakhetian specialties
- overnight stay at a hotel in Kachreti
Day 3 Kachreti – Vashlovani – Pantishara – Mijniskure (110 km)
- 08:00 – 09:00 breakfast at the hotel
- 09:00 – 11:00 after breakfast, departure southeast towards Vashlovani National Park on the border with Azerbaijan
- 11:00 – 12:00 registration at the Dedoplistskaro park office, shopping before continuing on
- 12:00 – 18:00 safari in the Vashlovani National Park with a unique semi-desert climate and African landscape, drive through the Pantischara canyon
- picnic during the day in Vashlovani
- off-road canyons, dried riverbeds, stops at viewpoints
- arrival at the Mijniskure campsite, pitching tents, lighting a fire and getting ready
- 18:00 – 20:00 preparation of dinner in Vashlovani
- accommodation in camps (optional stay in a bungalow)
Day 4: Vashlovani- Mijniskure – Shavi Mta – Supra in Gurjaani – Kachreti (120 km)
- 08:00 – 09:00 breakfast at the campsite,
- 09:00 – 13:00 drive through Shavi Mta towards Kakheti,
- 13:00 – 16:00 p.m. arrival in Gurjaani, organization of supra – a traditional Georgian feast at a friendly host’s vineyard, combined with tasting of wines and local dishes, Georgian cuisine workshops (baking bread and making churchkhela) and live music
- 16:00 – 18:00 arrival, hotel accommodation, free time, swimming in the pool, dinner
Day 5: Kachreti – Mtskheta – Tbilisi (145 km)
- 08:00 – 09:00 breakfast at the hotel
- 09:00 – 11:00 after breakfast, departure towards Tbilisi
- 11:00 – 14:00 visiting the Jvari Monastery located on the top of a hill, and then the city of Mtskheta, which until the 5th century AD served as the capital, visiting the legendary temple of Svetitskhoveli, the place of coronation and final resting place of the rulers of Georgia
- free time for shopping for souvenirs
- 14:00 – 16:00 lunch at a local restaurant
- 16:00 – 19:00 arrival to Tbilisi, hotel accommodation, free time in the city
- 20:00 – 22:00 farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Tbilisi
- overnight stay at a hotel
Day 6: Transfer to the airport (20 km)
- late transfer from the hotel to the airport

- Mtskheta – the first capital of Georgia listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Georgia adopted Christianity (326 AD), often called “Little Jerusalem” with the majestic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery – built in the 6th century, offering a beautiful view of Mtskheta and the intersecting rivers Mtkvari (Kura) and Aragvi.
