Program

Day 1: Kopitnari Airport – Tbilisi (250 km)

  • arrival in Kutaisi
  • a short stop for a snack after the flight
  • transfer to Tbilisi and hotel accommodation, rest
  • welcome dinner in the old town
  • for those interested, a night tour of the old town
  • overnight stay at a hotel in Tbilisi

Day 2: Tbilisi Airport – Tbilisi Tour (60 km)

  • after breakfast tour of the old town of Tbilisi and its main attractions: Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica – the oldest monastery in Tbilisi, ride the cable car to Narikala Fortress, which offers a magnificent view of the city, and walk to the waterfall in the sulfur baths district
  • free time, lunch break on your own
  • (optional) visit to the oldest Georgian brandy factory Sarajishvili and tasting of XO VIP brandy.
  • (optional) visit to the famous sulfur baths in Tbilisi, visit to private baths with sauna and hot medicinal waters, massages, and peeling.
  • dinner at a well-known restaurant, combined with a show of traditional Georgian dances
  • overnight stay at the hotel in Tbilisi

Day 3: Tbilisi – Lagodekhi National Park distance(155km) 11.5km, ↗ 1504m, ↘ 130m

  • after breakfast, departure to Lagodekhi, registration at the National Park, packing luggage on horses, and starting the trek towards Black Lakes, the distance to cover that day is 11.5 km, mainly uphill
  • lunch in nature along the way
  • Upon reaching the Meteorological Station, setting up camp, bonfire, dinner

Day 4: Lagodekhi National Park distance 14km, ↗ 1000m, ↘ 300m

  • after breakfast, start of the next stage of the trek, covering 14 km, also mainly uphill
  • picnic/lunch
  • upon reaching the camping site, setting up camp, bonfire,
  • dinner and overnight stay

 Day 5: Black Rock Lake

  • breakfast
  • day for walks in the area, horse riding (for those interested), hike to Black Rock Lake and surrounding smaller lakes, optional swimming
  • picnic/lunch
  • dinner and overnight stay at the same campsite as the previous night

 Day 6: Lagodekhi National Park – Tbilisi (155km) distance 14km, ↘ 2100m

  • after breakfast, descend towards Lagodekhi, covering 14 km
  • return to Tbilisi, check-in at the hotel, and free time, possibility of souvenir shopping
  • dinner in a local restaurant in the evening
  • overnight stay at the hotel in Tbilisi

Day 7: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Uplistsikhe – Kutaisi (250 km)

  • after breakfast, sightseeing around Tbilisi – transfer to the Jvari Monastery located on the top of a hill and to the town of Mtskheta, which until the 5th century AD served as the capital, visiting the legendary temple of Svetitskhoveli – the coronation and eternal resting place of the rulers of Georgia
  • free time, lunch break on your own
  • trip to Uplistsikhe, the oldest rock city in Georgia, where settlements date back to the second millennium BC
  • transfer to Kutaisi, the capital of Imereti, the third largest city in Georgia
  • Georgian supra in agritourism with Georgian cuisine workshops and live music
  • overnight stay at a hotel

Day 8: Kutaisi – airport transfer (25 km)

  • collection of breakfast packages and transfer to the airport

  • David Gareja – a famous complex of rock monasteries, carved as early as the 6th century, right on the border with Azerbaijan. Lunch in the town of Udabno on the steppes in a atmospheric restaurant serving specialties of Swan cuisine.
  • Visit to the “Sarajishvili” brandy factory – the first and oldest Georgian brandy dating back to 1884, with tastings of selected VSOP and XO spirits.
  • Lagodekhi National Park, a 4-day trek to Black Rock Lake.
  • Uplistsikhe – the oldest rock city in Georgia, where the first traces of settlement date back to 2,000 BCE. It was one of the most important trading points on the Silk Road.
  • Kutaisi – the third-largest city in Georgia, known from mythology for the story of the Argonauts and the quest for the Golden Fleece. It is the capital of the Imereti region with a charming old town and the majestic Bagrati Cathedral, built in 1003, towering over the city.
  • Visit to the Sarajishvili brandy factory – the first and oldest Georgian brandy dating back to 1884, with tastings of selected VSOP and XO spirits.
